Home from IDEX! Just got home last night- late. Came home to a mountain of snow at the end of my driveway, thanks to my son in law, I expect it was he who plowed. This is getting ridiculous. All the warmth and sun of Florida- to come home to another 10 inches of snow. But! It is good to be HOME.
The show was very successful for our group. I was amazed and thrilled for everyone who sold work. I will post a slide show here when I get one done- still have to transfer the photos to my computer.
But, just happy to report that the show was a success and some of our artists won awards too! Double bonus!

Deb

Meet Wisp! This cute little impish Dragonfly Fairy is modeling the wings I will be teaching in the upcoming online classes! A for Artistic is hosting the first class, starting tomorrow! And then in May it will be offered at International Art Doll Registry so be watching for that.
Also, I will be bringing Wisp with me to IDEX this next month, April 11-14th in Orlando! She too will be the subject of an upcoming class on creating a posable soft bodied doll. This is just too much fun~ If you have any questions, don't be shy!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I am teaching an online class on Sculpting the Female Torso. This class starts next Monday at A for Artistic so be sure to check that out! This is a continuation of my Sculpting the Female Face class, all part of my whole sculpting series, Back to Basics 101.
I felt it would be great to over basic sculpting techniques and the study of anatomy to both beginners and the more advanced as a refresher course. So come and join us! You will need an armature to build this on and that class is running right now, also at A for Artistic.
Come and check it out!

I seriously am embarrassed. I vow, my New Years Resolution, is to be more attentive to this blog!! Now, most people have resolutions that they are going to exercise more- and diet to lose weight- all that's great. I think I've had those resolutions every year since I was about 7!! Well, maybe 17, but you know what I mean.
This year my goal is to work on all those things that I have had to let slide because of life circumstances.
This is my year, and I am already grateful. Thank you God.

Well! I can see it's been a long time since I have checked in here on my Blog. Shame on me! Life has a way of getting in the way, doesn't it. Yes, it does. But it's all GOOD! I wanted to announce that I am back to teaching my online classes!! Right now I have a class underway at A for Artistic, the Sculpting the Female Face. There is still time to join us there! This class at A for Artistic includes sculpting the EAR, which can be difficult at times.
In addition, to my members of International Art Doll Registry, I am ALSO offering classes- the first one is underway right now, Armatures 101. That runs until January 29th. Then the Sculpting the Female Face class will be available to IADR members starting January 23rd!
For IADR, I am offering the EARS class separately so that members can take just that class alone if they choose to.
So! That's what is new with me!! I hope you'll consider taking a class with me- I would love to have you join us at International Art Doll Registry too. I will post links for you here! Thanks- Deb

Papillion-a butterfly fairy with a stained glass accent lamp

Hello again! Well, in spite of being so busy with my daughter and her new business venture, I still do find time to be in the studio. I think I would go crazy if I wasn't able to! It's just such a part of my life. This is Papillion- which is French for Butterfly. I thought it was a fitting name for her. Hope you enjoy seeing her!

Back with a new wee fae! Sweet-Heart!

I have been gone so much lately! Finally I have been able to be in the studio for a bit- this is Sweet-Heart- and she is tucked into a darling handpainted china dish I found while out antiquing one day. Love those vintage and antique shops, don't you? I thought it would look good with her sitting outside the dish and fill the dish with Hershey's Kisses or some other prettily wrapped candy. Why not, right?
I am working on several new pieces right now- and using them to prepare for the online classes I will be teaching starting this month. Be watching for more information!
Happy Spring!
